MOSMAN Park’s Australia Day awards went to a school chaplain, a youth council advisor, a men’s shed member and a community group at a Cottesloe Civic Centre ceremony last month.
Rhonda Miller, who has been the chaplain for Mosman Park Primary School and School for Deaf Children since 2007, was crowned Citizen of the Year.
“Rhonda has demonstrated leadership on several community issues, encouraging local children to participate in charitable works as well as helping at-risk families and organising ANZAC and NAIDOC celebrations and activities,” Mayor Ron Norris said.
The Youth Citizen was Amy Brades who was recognised for her “positive and inspiring” membership of both the town and its Youth Advisory Council since 2014.

Senior Citizen of the Year was resident Brian Millmore, who is chairman of the Mosman Park Community Men’s Shed, while the Community Group of the Year 2017 award was presented to the Mosman Park Community Group.
Neighbouring Peppermint Grove presented its Citizen of the Year to UWA Centenary Trust for Women chair Elizabeth Puzey, while 2016 Presbyterian Ladies College graduate Emily Ford was the Youth Citizen for her volunteering including work with Uniting Care West’s Winter Warmer Appeal for the homeless.
