Police said the thieves found the ignition keys to a VW Golf owned by a Dalkeith resident when they searched another car at a Yilgarn Street home overnight on September 14.
The theft was linked to a handbag snatched from a woman in Karrinyup the following day.
Police saw the Golf on Wanneroo Road, Tuart Hill, about 1.10am on September 18.
A chase through several northern suburbs ended when the vehicle hit a kerb at the Reid Highway-Mitchell Freeway intersection in Carine.
Police said the teenager, who was driving, was charged with breaching bail, stealing a motor vehicle, reckless driving, failing to stop and no authority to drive.
He was remanded in custody to reappear at Perth Children’s Court on October 16.
His uncle was the passenger and was charged with stealing a motor vehicle and possessing methylamphetamine, before appearing in court last week.
