Mickey Arthur’s Cricket Academy, based at Christ Church Grammar where he was recently appointed cricket director, will host a clinic at Belridge Secondary School from September 28 to 30.

Arthur, who was coach of South Africa before mentoring the Western Warriors and the national team, took the Proteas to the top of one-day cricket and led them to nine unbeaten Test series, said he was testing interest in his junior clinics.

‘I’m dipping my toe in the water in the northern suburbs and also down south the following week because I just want to see if there is an interest in me coming out there and doing some clinics,’ Arthur said.

He said he was really enjoying working with the students at Christ Church.

‘I’m loving every minute of it, just to be working with the kids is fantastic and it’s great to be trying to put a little bit back into cricket,’ he said.

The rest of his time has been taken up with media and corporate work, along with consulting to Rugby WA.

The clinics are for under-11, 15 and 21 players.
