Sanctuary: Judy Nunn to visit Ocean Reef to spruik new book

Lucy JarvisWanneroo Times

AUTHOR and star of stage and screen Judy Nunn will be in Ocean Reef next week promoting her 14th novel, Sanctuary.

Nunn’s novels take the reader to locations around Australia, and through different eras, and Sanctuary is the first set completely in modern day Australia.

A visit the Houtman Abrolhos chain of islands off the coast of Geraldton for a local writer’s festival several years ago inspired the story.

“This is a story about the human spirit; the will to survive under horrendous circumstances and the spirit of people who put themselves at risk to help those in peril,” Nunn said.

“It’s also a tale about love and compassion.”

She will be at Prendiville Performing Arts Centre on Wednesday, November 1 from 6pm to talk about her writing, career and the book.

Tickets cost $6. Book through Dymocks Joondalup or via events.joondalup.wa.gov.au.
