The long-time Trigg Art Club member loves using pastels to bring WA’s landscapes and seascapes to life, inspired by photographs she takes while travelling.

‘Pastels are a very direct and colourful medium,’ she said.

Betty will show three WA-inspired works at this weekend’s Trigg Art Club exhibition at Trigg Surf Life Saving Club on West Coast Drive.

She has also donated the door prize.

‘Trigg is a great club,’ said McLean, who joined about 25 years ago.

‘It’s very friendly and we have demonstrations every month.’

The show, featuring about 150 original pieces, is on Saturday and Sunday, September 21-22, from 9.30am to 5pm.

Opening night is tomorrow, Friday, at 7pm. Proceeds will help the surf club buy much-needed equipment.
