Friends and fans unable to attend the memorial flooded the comments with kind messages.

“I will light a candle for you Johnny from the east,” one person wrote.

“I really wish I could be there to show support and say goodbye to a wonderful man. We are very lost without you J. Thank you for being a friend to everyone,” a second person wrote.

Ruffo was diagnosed with cancer in 2017 and underwent surgery, announcing that he was in remission in 2019.

Sadly, a year later, he announced his cancer had returned.

The singer was surrounded by his longtime partner Tahnee Sims and family when he passed.

On Sunday, Sims shared a tribute to her ‘forever love’ in a heartbreaking Instagram reel.

The song Always Remember Us This Way by Michelle Ray played over the cheerful clips revealing their beautiful love story.
