Balloons litter

Tracy Pascoe, KardinyaMelville Gazette

I would like to know if the school put any consideration into the litter that these balloons created when they eventually came to ground and the significant impact that they have had on wildlife.

As the article in the September 10 edition stated, one was seen being chased by a camel. Had that camel eaten the balloon, it could have led to significant illness and even death.

It is also known that items such as these balloons in the ocean are mistaken by marine creatures for food, leading to permanent damage and death.

I hope that the school can think of more creative, responsible and effective ways to raise money.
