Mandurah: man (83) assaulted in home invasion

AN 83-year-old man was seriously assaulted during a home invasion in Mandurah last night while two children were in the house.

The attacker entered the home about 9pm through the front door of the Truarn Street property and struck the victim with a blunt object causing serious injuries.

An 11-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl were at the home.

The octogenarian required treatment in Peel Health Campus.

The offender fled towards Burley Street.

He was thought be aged about 40 and 180cm tall with dark skin.

He had a stocky build with shoulder length hair.
