John rides to raise disease awareness

The 59-year-old will join a group of 65 mountain bikers, who will cover 3384km of bush trails collectively.

Mr Halford hopes to ride 64km for the event.

The race raises funds to beat muscular dystrophy.

"I've been riding for about four to five years," Mr Halford said. "I saw something about the Ride for Someone Who Can't and thought it was a good cause and signed up."
