WA Premier Cricket: Joondalup at bottom of table

Staff WriterJoondalup Times

JOONDALUP will look to drag itself from the bottom of the WA Premier Cricket table against Bayswater-Morley on Saturday.

The side is coming off a frustrating four-wicket loss to the previously winless Gosnells in the two-day contest last weekend.

The Centurions were defending a healthy 268, but the Hawks chased it down in the 77th over for the loss of six wickets at Iluka.

Gosnells opener Ben Green (72) found a strong partner in first drop Jonathon Crowe; the pair putting on a 115-run second-wicket stand.

The runs continued to flow for Gosnells’ middle order, with each batsman getting themselves set, even if they did not go on to post huge individual scores.

Joondalup bowlers Brayden Thompson (2-42) and Harry Larmett (2-49) were best with the ball.

The Centurions face eighth-placed Bayswater Morley on Saturday.
