Joondalup tradie looking forward to a sleep in after $2 million Lotto win

Staff WriterJoondalup Times

A TRADIE from Joondalup is WA’s 54th division one Lotto winner for the year, claiming more than $2 million in Saturday Lotto.

The winning ticket was sold online, and the man – who is in his late 30s – had just finished a 12-hour work day when he learned of his good fortune.

“The first thing that popped into my head when I’d realised we’d won was ‘I won’t have to work weekends anymore’,” he said.

“I’ve been working six days a week – sometimes even seven days – for as long as I can remember.

“It’ll be great to be able to spend more time with my wife and the kids.”

The man said he already had plans to ‘take it easy’ this weekend.

“Mate, the thought of hanging up my work belt tomorrow at 4pm and sleeping in on Saturday instead of getting up at 4.30am… it’ll feel like all my Christmases have come at once,” he laughed.
