Fun run with serious message

More than 600 children from across the metropolitan area are expected to take part in the run, which will be held at the WA Athletics Centre in Mt Claremont on September 22.

Any child under the age of 18 can take part and will receive a free Parkerville |T-shirt on the day and the opportunity to meet Perth Heat and Perth Glory players.

Among the runners will be Mary McCusker and her brother James, whose mother, Tonya, is a patron for the event.

Parkerville spokesman Nathaniel Lee said the event was also to give |people in the community an opportunity to talk about the issue of child abuse, that affected one in four Australian girls and one in six Australian boys. To register visit parkerville.org.au|/spring-forward.
