North Perth tops REIWA’s list for sales

Natalie HordovEastern Reporter

NORTH Perth has topped the list for sales in the latest data from REIWA.

There were 19 sales in the area for the four weeks to October 24 and Central Paragon Property directors Nik Zounis and Theo Kouroulis said demand was strong for a range of property types.

“Townhouses are in demand, particularly among younger buyers in their late 20s to 30s,” they said.

“These are often young professionals wanting to be close to the city, and couples buying their first home.

“Homes needing renovation in the $800,000-$900,000 range are seeing a lot of interest; larger, extended homes over $1 million are sought after by families.

“These are often mums and dads with one or two kids who are upgrading from a home in the $800,000-$900,000 price bracket that might need renovating, but they don’t want to go through that process.”

Mr Zounis said there was strong demand for quality properties and price was the key to the time spent on the market.

“We are seeing large numbers through home opens and well-priced homes are selling quickly,” he said.

“In the last couple of months many of our listings have sold at the first home open, and for over the asking price in some cases.”

Mr Kouroulis said North Perth’s appeal lay in the fact people wanted to be close to the city, with access to great local cafe strips, excellent local schools and a community focused culture.
