Perth train station evacuated over “false alarm”

PERTH Train Station was evacuated after a fire alarm was set off this morning.

Public Transport Authority spokesman David Hynes said the alarm turned out to be a false alarm, however the standard procedure when an alarm was set off was for the station to be shut down.

Department of Fire and Emergency Services crews are still at the scene.

Mr Hynes said he believed the station would be reopened soon.
