Pirates a’plenty invasion

To celebrate, the museum will be offering free entry to all pirates who visit on September 19.

WA Museums public programs officer Felena Alach said the day had been celebrated for the past few years and was a chance for a livelier museum experience, including costumes and pirate speak. ‘Talk Like a Pirate Day is an opportunity to celebrate one of the fun aspects of maritime history for the museum here in Fremantle,’ she said.

‘There are real facts about maritime history in the era of sailing ships that we can understand through some of the rogues and ruthless sailors that we now associate with pirates in history.
