Speak plainly

BAYSWATER council intends spending $75,000 of our money on recommending amalgamation of parts of other councils with ours.

Will the ones proposing this adventure give their solemn promise that City rates will not go up when this joining takes place? And by that I mean not by natural increases but by this amalgamation.

I think this newspaper should give a list of all councillors’ views and the said promise. And please, no political jargon; just plain English so we will have no doubt of their opinions.
