Three charged over massive meth haul in raids across Perth

THREE people have been charged by the Organised Crime Squad over a massive haul of methylamphetamine on Monday.

As part of an investigation into a suspected criminal network, search warrants were executed at addresses in City Beach, West Leederville, Gnangara, Applecross, Madeley, Dayton and Ascot.

It will be alleged police uncovered large amounts of illicit drugs and other items of interest at the City Beach, West Leederville and Gnangara locations.

These included 32kg of methylamphetamine, 1.8kg of cocaine, 300g of MDMA, three firearms, ammunition and more than $800,000 in cash.

Approximately $50,000 cash was found at the Dayton address.

A 27-year-old man from Dayton has been charged with four counts of possessing methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply as well as possessing cocaine and MDMA with intent to sell or supply.

He has also been charged with possessing an unlicensed firearm in circumstances of aggravation and possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property.

A 23-year-old man from Applecross has been charged with three counts of possessing methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply as well as possessing cocaine and MDMA with intent to sell or supply.

He was also charged with firearm and property offences.

Both men were refused bail and appeared in the Perth Magistrate Court yesterday.

They will next appear in court on Tuesday November 21.
