In the third quarter, the Cougars starved the Swan View forwards and really shut them down all over the ground.

Canning Vale showed they wanted the ball more and led 8.5 to 6.9 at the final change, setting up a thrilling final term.

The Cougars won the quarter and recorded an emphatic 28-point victory.

Cody Nelson led the way with five goals in a dominant display. He was well supported by Jason McGovern with two goals. Better players were Nelson, McGovern and Ryan Pears.

The colts have a bye next week and will chase back-to-back flags when they play in the grand final the following weekend.
