WILLETTON’S first-grade cricket team was defeated by Claremont-Nedlands in a disappointing first round on Saturday at Burrendah Reserve.
Claremont-Nedlands batted first, rallying an impressive 192 runs on 50 overs with 7 wickets.
Willetton followed, all out for 73.
Hockey
THE WA Thundersticks and Diamonds ensured they finished their 2017 Australian Hockey League (AHL) campaigns on a positive note after securing wins in their final fixtures on Saturday.
The Thundersticks defeated Tasmania 2-1 before the WA Diamonds thrashed South Australia 4-1.
The results mean both sides finished in fifth place, after failing to reach the semi-finals.
Victoria won both the men’s and women’s competitions on Sunday.
