Opinion: Time Canning changed verge waste rules

Susan White, RivertonCanning Gazette

WITH the war on waste being recently televised on TV, it is time the City of Canning changed its ruling about putting hard waste out two days before pick up.

Ratepayers who are hard at work trying to keep ‘junk’ out of landfill should have at least a week to put their hard waste items out and allow them to be taken and recycled by other people, and so keeping it out of landfill.

Give us more time without fining us for putting them out earlier than two days.
